On October 16, CNPC Chairman Zhou Jiping met with President of OAO LUKOIL Vagit Alekperov in Beijing. In retrospect of the past cooperation achievements, the two sides reached consensus to further strengthen and expand cooperation.
LUKOIL is one of the world's biggest vertically integrated companies for production of crude oil & gas, and their refining into petroleum products and petrochemicals. In 2007, CNPC and LUKOIL entered into a strategic partnership agreement. The two companies have seen successful cooperation in the exploration and development activities in the Aral Sea Project in Uzbekistan, as well as in the sectors of oilfield services and equipment manufacturing.
